A Little About Your Teacher.......................   

Edward Junior Martes De Leon is from Los Toros and completed High School at the liceo (high school) in Los Toros. He is 20 years old and now is studying at the university in Santo Domingo and waiting for a scholarship. He is very smart! His mother  teaches at the pre-school and his father drives the village pickup, often giving us a ride.

 Sunday ------ Field   -  Work  -  Noon

1.   Campo - Yo tengo trabajo en el campo!    - I have work in the field.

2.    Trabajo - El tiene trabajo en el campo     - He has work in the field.

3.    Medio Día  – El trabajo es hasta el medio día.   - The work is until noon.

Lunes ------ Hasta - Noche - Mañana

Monday ------ Until  -  Night  -  Morning

1.   Hasta- Hasta mañana amigo.    - Until tomorrow friend.

2.    Noche - Buenas noches amigo.      - Good night friend.

3.    Mañana – La mañana esta fresca.     - The morning is cool.

Spanish is a beautiful language and often those who speak it reflect its beauty and not just in their looks! Spanish people are very hospitable people who will go out of their way to make "mi casa - su casa"! One might note that as a culture is changed and refined so is the language; ten years ago few people from Los Toros had the opportunity to attend an university, today there are a number of graduates from Los Toros working in professional careers. Some are teachers, some are lawyers and a number work in the business world. They bring to Los Toros not only economic growth but also intellectual and cultural growth. Learning Spanish enables us not just to learn a culture but also to make friends and build strong relationships. Watching these videos is a good way to start your immersion into another culture!
