Notes:

Spanish in Los Toros is "campo" Spanish; this means they use words and phrases that are common to the rural Dominican areas. Also the pronunciation and inflection is a bit different. Generally it is not bad Spanish, it reflects their particular culture and personality. The village of Los Toros is a peaceful village and the people are very warm and kind toward one another and toward visitors. They have an oral tradition - which means more words are spoken than written. Though many in the village are persons of few words they are intelligent and perceptive people and knowledgeable on many topics. It is interesting to listen to them talk as well as to watch them interact with one another.
