About Your Teacher....................... 
Socrates
is studying agriculture at the u university in Santo Domingo, his specialty is
dairy production and he hope to work in this area. His mother and father, Hija
and Manuel live en Los Toros and are active in the community. Hija is studying
nursing in at the university in Azua and works in the medical clinic in Los
Toros. Socrates will be working with the YAME during May; right now he is
helping with planning and setting up our schedule in Las Guanabanas - the neighboring
village.

Notes:
You
may have noticed in some of the videos that at times Dominicans drop the
last letter in a word. This happens in many cultures including at times in
the USA. Here you might here someone say, "mornin" for
"morning". In the Dominican Republic you might here
"adio" for "adios". It is not correct use of the
language, however, it still communicates the meaning and has a hint of
familiarity between the two persons communicating.
