Mirella De Leon
Olga graduated on February 22, 2007 from
UTESA with a degree in education. She has applied for a position at the
Liceo in Los Toros and she wishes to teach math. Her course at UTESA was
an intensive four year course studying on Saturdays; she would leave Los
Toros at 4:00 AM and return at 11:00 PM. Her dedication and hard work is
reflected in her service to the community and her ability to organize
groups to address the needs of the community. She leads the Saint Vincent
de Paul group among other roles of service to the community.
Mirella
graduated on February 21 from UTESUR in Azua where she studied primary
education. She hopes to work within the education system in Los Toros with
Pre-School children. Mirella already leads a pre-school program that
enables children to prepare for the primary school. She also works with
the Los Toros Education Committee that is helping to distribute help to
enable poor children to attend school. She recently lead a major effort to
get shoes and uniforms to children in the community; also enabling their
parents to monitor their children's attendance at school.
